Hello everyone,
I would like to take this opprotunity to vent my two cents if you will. I am getting very tired and frustrated at the recent fights witnessed, not only in chat, but here on the OK Corral board. And of course, not to mention, reading the- he said she said- back and forth bickering in the OOC board as well. Everytime I am in chat, I witness constant 'alpha male' syndrome that usually ends in a fight that will be posted here for all to see. Personally, many of these fights are due to childish behavior, throwing sand from their sandbox, or, just because someone didn't like what someone stated. There IS no single person to blame here, all are guilty.
I know full well that I don't have to read it, but if you think about it, that kind of display does carry over to other wonderful parts of Tombstone ie; Roleplay. It is true. Take a look at the RP side of Tombstone and see how many people (I know I haven't posted anything as of yet, I will get to that in a minute) have posted as private, or how many have actually gone to other posting and simply RP-you can count them on one hand. Yes, I have enjoyed reading them, and all of you are so talented. I, personally, would like to see many of our members RP with others, which leads me to my own personal opinion as to why this is not happening. Simply, I, or perhaps we, have been sucked into the vortex of the OK Corral board. I have become so busy with reading and trying to, on my own, judge the fights that I have lost my creative side. I believe it is happening to many of our members. I fear that some members will just simply leave because Tombstone is either going to, or has become, a disappointment.
Wouldn't it be great to see here in Tombstone a RP with, say, 2 Lords of their underworld going at each other in a T1 style with no death, just severly wounded. Or better yet, even if there is a death, he/she would take if with grace and dignity. That, would be something to read about. Does death usually mean an end? To the character, maybe, but not to the story. And there lies the bottome line. None of us want to end our charcters life that we have created. It is a part of us. It is a little of us. And the disassociation, between 'us' and 'our characters' is the hardest part to endure.
I am all for freedom of speech and think it is wonderful for Tombstone to provide us with the means to be able to post our opinions. I see, a tip in the scales with regards to this alternate reality, and, I implore many of you to just remind yourselves why you came here to Tombstone in the first place.
Without wax,
Sin
